O. Henry was an acclaimed short story writer who had been convcited of embezzling funds from the First National Bank in Houston, Texas. He developed his pen name in prison in an attempt to conceal his identidy. While behind bars, he wrote over a dozen short stories. After he left priosn, he moved to New York, where he completed  more than three hundred short stories before his death in 1910. If you would like to learn more, come into the store!
